Attendance
Following on from our attendance discussions, whanau will be receiving attendance letters with your report if your child’s attendance has been of concern for the first half year. We welcome your engagement on this, and offer our support if you would like to discuss any aspect of this further.
Now you see it – now you don’t!
For those of you who were in our kura last week you will have noticed the dismantling of the old court fence. Mr T is steadily removing this as part of our wider project of the ‘new playground and path area’. We will be starting work on opening up the existing playground area and sorting out the drainage over next term, and looking to install the new playground elements once this is completed. A huge thankyou to the PTA and BoT who have contributed new and historic funds to see this finally get underway.
School communication
Thank you to whanau who have made aware of 2 issues with school comms recently, we are working to sort these out. Firstly whanau are indicating they are receiving a newsletter update on Fridays that is the same as the previous weeks. We have worked with our hosting provider and this should now be sorted. Since Gabrielle we have had our phone system repaired and moved to an online service, However whanau are still reporting some difficulty getting through on occasions. We are reviewing this issue and hope to have this resolved as soon as possible. Please email the office with any issues you are having.
Dental Health
Please see the below info-graphic. Do not hesitate to reach out if your child needs dental assistance by ringing 0800 MY TEETH (0800 698 3384)
Calling all old farm bits n pieces…we need you!
A huge thank you to the Lyall whanau who have generously donated of a ‘perfect’ old tractor!
Otaika Valley School is not only the best kept secret in town, but also our very own ‘little bit of country.’
In keeping with the country feel we are looking to theme our gardens and walls with some old ‘farming and country’ treasures. If you have any old mossy gates, saws, rusty implements, horse collars, scales, pulleys, wheels or anything you think would fit, please get in touch…we would love to hear from you and we collect!
