Simon and his team have postponed this Friday’s area athletics at Maungakaramea due to the weather conditions. The postponement is next Tuesday the 15th November. Fingers crossed we get better weather and can go ahead with the day. We hope that parents/caregivers can still support us on the day.

5th to 9th/12/22 – St Johns in class programmes – Responding in an Emergency & Keeping Safe/Injury Prevention
7/12/22 – Wednesday – Y6 fun day and sleep over
13/12/22 – Tuesday – End of Year Kai & Carols
14/12/22 – Wednesday – End of Year Fun Day at School
16/12/22 – Last day of the term
Staff appointment
Over the weekend the staff appointment committee interviewed three strong candidates for a permanent teaching position. We are very pleased to announce Natalie Lynch has been appointed. Natalie has been teaching at Otaika Valley since November 2021 and has been a part of our latests professional development focuses, in particular ‘Writers Tool Box’. She will have the added advantage of knowing the students at Otaika Valley School, our systems and process and learning needs of her next year class. Miss Lynch will teach in Room 6 next year, with Mrs Nieddu moving to Room 5 and still leading the senior syndicate.
