Kia ora koutou
We have confirmed student and a staff covid case within the school. One of our teacher aides has now been confirmed. We think this is from another confirmed student case. The family had been testing daily, as recommended, so we thank them for their vigilance. Room 4 may need to be more aware with any symptoms over the next days/week.
With the Otaika Valley having whole school assemblies together again, buddy classes and split classes due to reliever shortages, as well as teacher aides working with lots of children and classes, pretty much everyone at school should be monitoring symptoms and keeping sick children at home. We still have plenty of RAT tests available if required.
PTA – Wow!!
Our parent teacher group has started with a hiss and a roar. It is so pleasing to have an enthusiastic group of parents supporting the school. You should have had a green-hard-copy-note come home to fill in and return by Tuesday. This food indication note is just that, an indication that you intend to come a bit earlier to disco and buy your dinner at school before heading over to the hall. Please check bags over the weekend and return the form, so that the PTA can order enough food to cook.
Bring you skateboard and scooters, shoot some basketball goals and generally enjoy being a community again before the disco starts.
Our disco is intended as our first fun event for children since a whole lot of restrictions. Lots of schools are enjoying the same sort of events. Our disco could be seen as a super spreader event for covid.
Therefore, please think of everyone else, be kind and considerate and…
ONLY ATTEND THE DISCO IF YOU ARE WELL.
Enjoy your long weekend.
Kind regards
Terry
