VISION AND HEARING SCREENING
- Vision and Hearing Screening helps ensure that our children’s health and their ability to learn is at its best. Children’s vision and hearing continue to develop and change throughout childhood, so it is important to detect any problems early on through a Vision and Hearing screen.
- This is a free screening programme operated by Vision and Hearing Technicians from the Rural, Family and Community Service of the Northland District Health Board.
- As a new student to the school your child will have their hearing and distance vision screened if it was not done so at a B4School check. You will be informed if there are any concerns raised at this time.
- Vision and Hearing Technicians will also carry out screening for children that require a re-screen following a B4School check.
- If you do not want your child to be part of the screening programme, please inform the School office so they in turn can notify the Vision and Hearing Screeners.
