You should all have received a text informing you that there is no school for Wednesday/Thursday/Friday of this week.
THE SCHOOL PLAN at this stage…
- Teachers will be meeting online tomorrow morning to support the planning for online learning for Thursday/Friday of this week
- No lessons or online learning will be offered tomorrow/Wednesday
Ministry of Education update…
I realise that children may have headed home without their devices. Because of the importance of the first 24 hours in tracing this virus, at this stage there is no exemption process to allow for devices or hard pack resources, or any other approved arrangement. We will continue to review this and if this changes we will let you know.
Otaika Valley School was prepared for hard pack distribution, which could have been rolled out within 2 hours during school time. This could not happen. Until we hear otherwise we will have to rely on seesaw learning on the available devices within your home. If this lockdown is extended and if we are allowed to distribute devices, we will explore this process when appropriate and when time allows.
Let us all stay calm and patient and consider others. Don’t over worry about things in the short term.
