2021 Otaika Valley Student Reporting Consultation
This year you will be aware that we have reviewed student reporting and are trialling new and innovative approaches. Recently (1st July), you will have received a mid year written report, alongside many ongoing real time reporting updates through the Seesaw app.
The purpose for real time reporting is designed to…
- help the child
- help the parent/caregiver
- help the teacher
The teachers have given feedback which includes …
… them being able to focus their energy on teaching and learning during Term 2, with the reduced written reporting format.
…them being able to report children’s achievement when it happens – not being delayed by the report writing process.
…reports being written closer to the time they are being sent home.
…Less interruptions to class programmes as assessment is now spread across the year more evenly, rather than at reporting time.
