WHEN: Friday week – 23rd October
IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION
All parents / visitors please sign in once, using either the QR code sheets or a sign in sheet. These will be on the entry gates and at the PTA food tents. We and the country rely on you to take the responsibility. If someone in our community gets Covid-19, then we will need this highly accurate information to keep people and business safe in New Zealand through contact tracing.

ANIMAL LEADING PRACTICE RUN – Tuesday 21st to run children through the process in set up pens

- Please support the school fundraising by providing spending money for your child – think about how they will keep their money safe as the enjoy the activities on the day

ORGANISATION FOR THE DAY…
Thursday
- Teachers put awards out as they judge – needs to be done before Friday morning
Ag Prep day on Thursday the day before Ag and Flower Day
- Children finish off a number of exhibits – teachers need some parental help
- Teachers judge each other’s class – award certificates for display on Friday – a big job
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd & highly commended
Ag and Flower Day 23rd October at the end of week 2, term 4.
All fun activities are free except the miniature horse leading/petting and quad bike trailer rides which are a gold coin donation. The children will receive a stamp on their hand to manage rides. The children will get an activity participation card to tick off by the teachers. These cards will go into a draw for a box of roses chocolates to share with the winners family. Food will be sold in PTA tents. More information to come. Animal judging will be the highest priority.
Itinerary:
7:00 Terry check setup of lamb pens – set up the night before
8:00 Staff help with big gazebo and setting up a few tables – John Hewinson Canvas lends this
Family Scarecrows displayed on the court fence outside Library
Cake entries to be delivered to the Library
Ag Animal vehicles only are able to park on the field if fields are dry
Parking areas roped off for vehicles from the corner of the old school house to the container
9am – Roll call
9:07 – Classroom Flower Show Exhibit viewing for students – teachers take own class on a school classroom walk thru
9:15 – students with animals meet at the pens
9:30 – Animal judging starts
9:45 – Whole school sits down around the judging pens to watch the animal judging – 40 to 45mins
- 3 lamb pens
- 1 calf pen
10:30 – children can go to the food tents – teachers monitor the noise around the pens
– ribbons awarded in each pen after each section – champion/reserve champ awarded for each pen
– champion ring for overall champion / reserve and cups
10:45 – some activities can start – not quad bikes
11:15 – judging finished
- Quad bike/trailer rides (2 bikes run by principal and Gareth Bourke – when finished in lamb pens )
- Miniature Pony – leading 11am after Gran Fiona watches her grandchildren’s lambs
- Sponge throwing at faces
- Hoop throwing to pigtail standards
- Poop the nail
- Hoops – Netball basketball shoots
- Horse races – large ball between knees – race around rugby dodgy poles
- Water slide – children must have a change of clothes (12:30ish so children don’t get cold)
1 to 1:30 depending on how things are going – round up activities
